How to make a call from a UK contract mobile
STEP 1: Dial* the 0870 041 5242 number from any phone.
From O2 and fixed line, we recommend you use our 0844 545 4242 product. This product also offers some additional destinations and is supported by some alternative networks.
STEP 2: At the prompt, simply dial 00 + Country Code + Tel No. [e.g. to phone China - dial 00 86 xxxxxx] Simple isn't it!
(Do NOT Press Call after the destination number)
*Please always ask the permission of the person who owns the line. Calls to this number are free from some mobile phone contract users by utilising inclusive minutes. Please check the availability of the number with your mobile network operator. Pay As You Go customers will be charged at their regular tariff. When all inclusive minutes have been used, calls will be charged at your regular tariff (subject to individual mobile network operator). Some countries are excluded from this service.
A HANDY TIP WHEN CALLING FROM A MOBILE
When calling from a Mobile, this is a handy tip to avoid having to dial the access number and your International destination number again & again. All you need do is add a "pause" between the access number and your International destination number. For example, if you are calling Australia via our access number 0870 041 5242, you need to set up a new entry in your address book called "Friend", and do the following:
- Enter the access number - 0870 041 5242
- Enter a "pause". You can do this depending on your phone handset, as follows:
- Nokia Phones: p will appear after you press star (*) 3 times
- Siemens / Panasonic Phones: + will appear after you press and hold zero (0)
- Motorolla / Sony / Ericsson: p will appear after you press and hold star (*)
- Now enter your International destination number in full, including 00, and press "save".
You are now ready to go! Anytime you want to call your friend, find him in your address book and press call. For full instructions, please refer to your Mobile Phone instruction booklet, or contact the phone manufacturer.
